# All Endings How to Get

Silent Hill: Townfall features 5 endings in total. Three of them are story endings determined by your gameplay behavior, while the remaining two are joke endings available in New Game Plus. According to Konami's official materials, the game features multiple endings shaped by the player's actions. With careful save management, you can obtain all endings in just 2 playthroughs.

Ending Determination System

The three main story endings are determined by the ratio of Discoveries to Kills throughout your playthrough. Discoveries include finding clues, documents, and exploring areas, while Kills refer to enemies defeated in combat.

Ending 1: Justice (Good Ending)

The Justice ending is considered the "good" or canonical ending. To achieve it:

  • Prioritize exploration and discovery over combat
  • Aim for approximately 80 or more Discoveries with up to 50 Kills
  • The key is having significantly more Discoveries than Kills -- a large gap favors this ending
  • Explore every area thoroughly, read all documents, and collect all clues you find
  • Avoid unnecessary combat; use stealth and evasion when possible

Trophy: "For St. Amelia" (Gold)

Ending 2: Forever (Normal Ending)

The Forever ending is the "neutral" or default ending. To achieve it:

  • Maintain a balance between exploration and combat
  • You need slightly more Discoveries than Kills -- approximately 5 more Discoveries
  • This is the most naturally occurring ending if you play without a specific strategy

Trophy: "Here To Stay" (Gold)

Ending 3: Abandoned (Bad Ending)

The Abandoned ending is the "bad" ending. To achieve it:

  • Focus on combat over exploration
  • Accumulate more Kills than Discoveries
  • Reaching 60+ Kills will also trigger this ending regardless of Discovery count
  • Skip optional exploration areas and engage enemies aggressively

Trophy: "Just Making Things Worse" (Gold)

Ending 4: Dog (NG+ Joke Ending)

The Dog ending is a humorous joke ending only available in New Game Plus. It requires collecting special items across the game world.

### Steps to Unlock

  1. Start a New Game Plus playthrough
  2. Find 3 coins: Bronze, Silver, and Gold -- scattered throughout the game world
  3. Locate 3 dog banks placed in specific locations
  4. Place each coin into its corresponding dog bank
  5. The Dog ending will trigger

Trophy: "Let's Talk This Out" (Silver)

Ending 5: Sci-fi (NG+ Joke Ending)

The Sci-fi ending is another joke ending exclusive to New Game Plus, involving puzzle-solving and hidden items.

### Steps to Unlock

  1. Start a New Game Plus playthrough
  2. Solve the door puzzle -- interact with the specific door mechanism
  3. Find 3 Strange Books hidden in various locations
  4. Obtain the Strange Access Card
  5. Use the Strange Access Card on the keypad to trigger the ending

Trophy: "Sci-fi-lent Hill" (Silver)

Recommended Playthrough Strategy

### Two-Playthrough Method

You can unlock all 5 endings efficiently with 2 full playthroughs and some manual save management:

Playthrough 1 -- Abandoned Ending + Collectibles - Focus on combat to trigger the Abandoned ending - Collect all items needed for Dog and Sci-fi endings along the way - Do NOT use manual saves (to keep the speedrun trophy option open) - Estimated time: ~8 hours

Playthrough 2 -- Justice Ending + Setup - Start New Game Plus - Prioritize exploration and discoveries for the Justice ending - Set up the Dog and Sci-fi ending requirements - Estimated time: ~3 hours

Reload for Remaining Endings - Reload manual saves from Playthrough 2 to get Forever, Dog, and Sci-fi endings - Estimated time: ~2 hours

Optional Playthrough 3 - If pursuing the speedrun trophy, do a dedicated speedrun playthrough - Estimated time: ~2 hours

Speedrun Trophy

The Fleeting Visit trophy (Silver) requires finishing the game in under 4 hours. This is considered very lenient -- experienced players can complete the game in under 2 hours. The trophy does not require any specific ending.

Save System Notes

  • The game provides 1 Autosave slot and 20 Manual Save slots
  • Trophies are cumulative across playthroughs in New Game Plus
  • Strategic use of manual saves is essential for efficiently obtaining all endings
  • There are 17 missable trophies, so plan your playthroughs carefully

Tips

  • Explore everything on your first playthrough to naturally rack up Discoveries
  • The game has a Hinted puzzle difficulty setting that does not affect trophies
  • You can play on Story Mode without missing any trophies
  • Cumulative trophy tracking means collectibles and progress carry over between NG+ runs
